Job Summary

Position Summary

We are looking for a qualified Junior Supply Chain Specialist. This position will report to the Supply Chain Manager. The Junior Supply Chain Specialist manages his / her commodity to ensure on time delivery of quality material that is within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Places and maintains purchase orders for raw materials/components within responsible area
  • Works with suppliers to manage on time deliveries
  • Works with suppliers to expedite or defer material deliveries depending on changes in requirements
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support production plan
  • Maintains accurate master of materials and purchase order information in the SAP/ERP system
  • Has a strong focus on material cost reduction, lead time reduction, supplier performance improvement along the complete supply chain
  • Ability to negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers if required
  • Organizes regular Business Reviews with vendors to improve supplier KPIs, track goal milestones and review pending open actions
  • Work with the quality department to resolve any non-conformance issues and coordinate preventive and corrective actions
  • Monitors sourcing and supply chain related performance metrics
  • Provides support to suppliers to comply with any import/export requirements
  • Participates in team meetings to ensure continuous improvements

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • At least 1 year of experience in Procurement/Purchasing/Supply Chain
  • Associate degree required.  Bachelors or Masters in Procurement/Purchasing/Supply Chain or similar discipline is preferred
  • Strong customer (external and internal) focus and commitment
  • Demonstrated skills in supplier relationship management
  • Electrical and mechanical technical understanding
  • Open for limited travel
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • SAP ERP software knowledge is a plus
